Brow Lift

Brow Lift (forehead lift) is often performed to treat conditions associated with ageing. It may be done in conjunction with other rejuvenative surgery to achieve a more harmonious facial appearance. A brow lift is also appropriate for treatment of certain inherited traits. Younger adults who have a low brow or who already have deep frown lines due to stress or over activity of muscles may benefit from the procedure.

  • Any one or a combination of the following conditions may indicate you are a good candidate for a brow lift:
  • Sagging or low position of the eyebrows, creating a tired or sad appearance
  • Deep horizontal creases across the forehead
  • Frown lines, or furrows, between the eyebrows and sometimes across the top of the nose

A brow lift can improve all of these problems. It may often be performed at the same time as a face-lift which removes excess skin and tightens muscles in the mid and lower face. if there is significant skin overhang in the upper eyelids, or puffy bags beneath your eyes, eyelid surgery may be recommended in addition to a forehead lift. Planning your surgery……….

A Brow Lift is a very individualised procedure. At your initial consultation, the surgeon will discuss your goals for the surgery. He will discuss your medical history and will check for medical conditions that could cause problems during or after surgery. He will explain the techniques and anaesthesia and any risks involved, and will answer any questions you may have, especially those regarding your expectations and concerns about the results.

For surgery in Cyprus, you need to stay for a minimum of 7 days, which includes a 1 night stay in the clinic and gives time for your recovery and primary post-operative care before returning home.

Getting back to normal……..

There isn't usually significant discomfort after surgery and you should be up and about in a day, but plan on taking it easy at first. Your surgeon will give you more specific guidelines for gradually resuming your normal activities but above all, get plenty of rest and allow your body to spend its energy on healing. Most patients can resume work about 10 days after surgery.
