Breast Enlargement
Many women choose to have their breasts enlarged in order
to satisfy the desire for a fuller bust line. Your breasts may not have developed to a size that meets your expectations, or one breast may be significantly smaller than the other. You may have been happy with your breasts in the past but feel
that they look different now. Often, after weight loss, childbirth or as a result of aging, the breasts lose volume and their shape changes. Breast enlargement can enhance your breast size and shape, and give you the more
proportional figure that you always wanted. Some of the indications that you may be a good candidate for breast enlargement are:
It is important that you discuss with the surgeon how you would like your breasts to look. Patients with sufficient physical and emotional maturity who undergo breast enlargement because they want to enhance their self-image are
usually very satisfied with the outcome.
Planning your surgery……….
Breast
Enlargement is a very individualised procedure. At your initial consultation, the surgeon will examine your breasts and will discuss your goals for the surgery. He will consider such factors as the size and shape of your breasts, the quality
of your skin and the placement of your nipples and areolas (the pigmented skin surrounding the nipples). If your breasts are sagging, a breast lift may be recommended in conjunction with augmentation. Your surgeon will discuss
your medical history and will check for medical conditions that could cause problems during or after surgery. He will explain the techniques and anaesthesia and any risks involved, and will answer any questions you may have, especially those
regarding your expectations and concerns about the results. For surgery in Cyprus, you need to stay for a minimum of 5 days, which includes a 1 night stay in the clinic and gives time for your recovery and primary post-operative
care before returning home. For most patients, our Cyprus surgeons recommend McGhan silicone cohesive gel implants, widely acknowledged as giving some of the best results. Although they are one of the most expensive Implants, they
are included in the fixed cost for surgery.
Getting back to normal……..
There isn't usually significant discomfort after surgery and you should be up and about in a day, but plan on taking it easy at first. Your surgeon will give you more specific guidelines for gradually resuming your normal activities but above all, get plenty of rest and allow your body to spend its energy on healing. Most patients can resume work just a few days after surgery.
