Chin Contouring
Chin Under development
Cosmetic Surgery of the chin is performed to add size and contour to a receding chin. This can be achieved by placing a small plastic implant underneath the skin in front of the chin. If you
have dental or bite problems, this procedure will not correct them. A normal bite, however, is not affected or changed by the chin contouring procedure. Suitable candidates for chin contouring, desire a stronger chin appearance, which
usually means more width, height and projection. The result can give you a more balanced and proportional contour to the chin and entire lower face, making you more confident and comfortable with your facial proportions. Chin contouring is
usually performed under local anaesthesia, combined with a sedative to make you drowsy. The surgeon will discuss the alternatives with you. For surgery in Cyprus, you need to stay for a minimum of 5 days, which gives time for your recovery
and primary post-operative care before returning home.
Chin Over development
Protrusion of the chin can also be considered for correction, and will involve reduction of bone prominence. For surgery in Cyprus, you need to stay for a minimum of 7 days, which gives time for your recovery and primary post-operative care
before returning home.
Planning your surgery……….
Chin Contouring is a very individualised procedure. At your initial consultation, the surgeon will discuss your goals for the surgery. He will discuss your medical history and will check for medical conditions that could cause problems during or after surgery. He will explain the techniques and anaesthesia and any risks involved, and will answer any questions you may have, especially those regarding your expectations and concerns about the results.
Getting back to normal……..
There isn't usually significant discomfort after surgery and you should be up and about in a day,
but plan on taking it easy at first. Your surgeon will give you more specific guidelines for gradually resuming your normal activities but above all, get plenty of rest and allow your body to spend its energy on healing. Most patients can
resume work a few days after surgery. To return to procedures page, or go to another page, click the navigation buttons on the left.
